Less than an hour from the city of Salzburg lies the Salzkammergut region of Austria, which is essentially the Austrian lake district. The scenery here is truly magnificent. You are surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains and many views framed by the towering, snow-capped Dachstein Mountains in the distance. However, this holiday offers very easy cycling, virtually all along cycle paths or quiet lanes. The route is circular so you start and finish at the same hotel in Salzburg. If you would like more time to explore this charming city we can arrange extra nights' accommodation for you in Salzburg at the beginning or end of this ride (or both!).
