This tour through Chianti takes you amongst delightful countryside and into picturesque towns steeped in history.
Basic Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Florence
Day 2 Florence to Passo dei Pecorai ~ 20 miles
Day 3 Passo dei Pecorai to Radda ~ 26 miles
Day 4 Radda in Chianti to Siena ~ 25 miles
Day 5 Siena to Colle di Val d'Elsa ~ 26 miles
Day 6 Colle di Val d'Elsa to Volterra ~ 25 miles
Day 7 Volterra to Pisa ~ 36 miles
Day 8 Departure

The rolling hills with their terraces of olive groves, the distinctive evergreen cypress trees and the towns and villages which seem part of the landscape all accompany you on this Italian cycle route along quiet roads. The tour includes Florence, the pearl of Tuscany, and the historic town of Siena, as well as the wine-growing region of Chianti.
If you would like more time to explore Florence and/or Pisa, we can book you additional nights in either location at the start or end of your cycle tour.

· Parking: customers can park in the hotel's private parking in Florence at about € 70/80 per week
depending on the hotel
· Briefing: at 09.00 am on 2nd day where customers get route details and practical information of the tour and
bikes if rented.
· Return transfer: private transfer from Pisa to Florence is available on request. Pisa to Florence centre or
airport costs € 45,00 per person (min 2 persons, own bikes included).
Transfer must be requested with the reservation and paid in advance.
Day 2 Florence to Passo dei Pecorai.
A short first day takes you out of Florence and the valley of the River Arno entering into the hills to the south of the city. The route takes you through pine woods and past groves of cypress trees. ~ 20 miles
Day 3 Passo dei Pecorai to Radda in Chianti.
You leave Passo dei Pecorai heading south once more into the hills. You pass through Greve in Chianti and Panzano. Radda in Chianti has a complex little network of narrow streets in its medieval centre. ~ 26 miles
Day 4 Radda in Chianti to Siena.
A day of typical Tuscan landscapes accompanies you as you meander through the small hill town of Castagnoli, with its historical centre. Reaching Siena you can then explore this fascinating small city centred on the Piazza del Campo. ~ 25 miles
Day 5 Siena to Colle di Val d'Elsa.
A fairly easy day through Tuscan countryside allows you to soak up the ambience of the region as you pass through Abbadia before arriving in Colle di Val d'Elsa. ~ 26 miles
Day 6 Colle di Val d'Elsa to Volterra.
Another day exploring the countryside of the Chianti wine growing region. You pass the famous hilltop town of San Gimignano. ~ 25 miles
Day 7 Volterra to Pisa.
Today's route takes you north and west from Volterra away from the vineyards of the Chianti Region. The area is dotted with old hilltop towns and your final day takes you eventually down to the valley of the River Arno at Pontedera before a short rail transfer into the city of Pisa. ~ 36 miles
Day 8 Departure.
