Walking in Switzerland

Switzerland has some of the finest and most photographed scenery in the world. However, the country and its culture are incredibly varied and the walks we offer take you to the heart of these cultures with their French, German and Italian influences. The standard of self-guided walking holidays we have on offer is also varied, from easy to demanding, with something to suit every walker's taste whether you are new to walking or have years of experience. Many people also have a perception of Switzerland as an expensive destination, but today it is actually good value for money.

Cycling in Switzerland

Self-guided cycling holidays in Switzerland are a real joy. Switzerland has in recent years developed a national network of long distance cycle routes which take in the best and most scenic areas of this beautiful country. Each route is largely traffic-free with the rest being mainly on quiet lanes. Average daily distances are between 25 and 35 miles ie 3 to 5 hours of cycling. In spite of the mountainous nature of Switzerland, and hence its beauty, climbs on these cycle routes tend to be nothing like so steep as in England as they are designed for gradual ascents and descents. All routes are extremely well signposted so that navigation is not a problem.
